- 2 min read
Boomer Blake is a singer/songwriter celebrated for his contributions to the Tropical Rock genre, which seamlessly blends elements of Coastal Americana and Caribbean Cowboy music. His diverse musical arrangements draw inspiration from a wide range of artists, including Billy Joel, James Taylor, Kenny Rogers, Lionel Richie, and the Doobie Brothers.
Early Life and Musical Roots
Growing up in Northern New Jersey, an area renowned for musical legends like Sinatra, Frankie Valli, Bon Jovi, and Eddie Rabbit, Boomer Blake embraced music from a young age. He pursued formal music education from public school through college and gained valuable performance experience in community theater, national choirs, theme parks, and on cruise ships.
Career Milestones and Musical Style
While Blake began developing his songwriting catalog during his college years, it became a serious focus in the last decade. He made a conscious decision to shift from performing in other bands to establishing his unique musical identity as a solo artist. His debut single, "Smooth Whiskey Weekend," first aired on Radio A1A in the spring of 2016, rapidly climbing to #3 on the Weekly Trop 40 chart and remaining there for four months. Subsequent singles, "Livin' Loose in My Barefoot Shoes" and "Escape for a Smile," also charted that summer. All of Blake's songs have since consistently appeared on the Weekly Trop 40 and the Shore Life Radio Top 20 Most Requested, gaining airplay on various Trop Rock-oriented radio stations. His first album, "Road to Cayo Hueso," released in 2017, compiles singles from 2016 to 2018. As an independent artist, Blake primarily releases quality singles, funding his own music production, with these singles produced at Sonic Boom Studios by gold record producer and former Spin Doctors lead guitarist, Anthony Krizan. His popular songs include "Island Lady," "Down by the Coastline," "Watching the River Go By," "Damn Those Caribbean Girls," and "Road to Cayo Hueso."
Performances and Collaborations
Boomer Blake performs solo along the Jersey Shore and tours nationally with fellow singer/songwriter Danny Rosado. They also form "Category 3" with Texas-based Trop Rocker Jonas Lorence. Additionally, Blake makes guest appearances on Tiki Man Radio.

Boomer's Basement Talk Show

Airing live on Facebook every Friday night at 7 PM EST, the show features interviews with Trop Rock musicians, fans, and key influencers.
